I've got a squash man, do you?
He's at the farmer's market, corner stall, across from the root lady on one side and the popular farm with the great basil on the other side. He's awesome.
My favorite squash from him is the Small Wonder, a single-serving size spaghetti squash that is out-of-control good. I have 5 of those right now, and I will probably pick up some more next market.
That Carnival squash that I picked up and used for my last entry is the squash man's wife's favorite.
My squash man's favorite is Cream Of The Crop, a white acorn type squash that he says tastes so much better than an acorn. I picked up two, and I am roasting some for the acorn/shiitake soup from 'nomicon. Those months when the market is closed are long.
A casual, neighborhood friend that we saw on the bus after our last trip to the market asked if I had a squash fetish. My response was: "I don't think I do, but my sister might." Heh.
