First up we have the Acorn Squash, Pear, and Sauteed Shiitake Soup.
I used cream of the crop squashes cause they're what I had, and they made for some sweet sweet soup. The salty shiitakes really helped make this a more savory thing cause that squash really wants to be eaten plain or mashed or baked into a pie or casserole sweet sweet. We ate all the shiitakes for just our two bowls, so I'll have to buy some at the farmer's market tomorrow for the leftovers.
Second up for the evening is also from 'nomicon: Apple Peanut Butter Caramel Bars! I haven't tried these yet cause they're for a tofurkey dinner we're attending later in the weekend (so I'll take a picture of it then), but I sure did try some of that peanut butter caramel! Do I need to even say how creamy sweet wonderful dreamy it was?
